Cha Chaan Teng, known as “茶餐廳”, translates into “Tea Restaurant”. This is a cantonese cuisine, which has lots of cantonese breads, noodles, and meat. The most common foods are pineapple bun, french toast, instantly noodles to satay beef, macaroni with ham, scrambled eggs (Usually with buttered toast, large slices of ham, and an entree such as macaroni with ham or satay beef with instant noodles), and hong kong-style milk tea. This restaurant has those foods, and additional dishes, such as bolognese and cheese on rice, and beef chow fun (Fried thick noodles with beef and bean sprout). Within tea restaurants, there are lots of drinks. However, most adults drink the hong kong-style milk tea, or a red bean ice, which has red bean under the drink, while the top evaporated milk, crushed ice, and ice cream.

The Murray House was built in 1844 to search as barracks for police officers. It was named after “Sir George Murray'' a British soldier and scottish politician. In terms of architecture, this was built to serve as a victorian-era building, with victorian-like features in the building. Such as pillars, bright colours (white), and steep roofs. During 1944, after the british rule, the Japanese used it as a command center for the soldiers, and also a place for chinese citizens to be executed (via. Firing squad) The Citibank tower has replaced the Murray House’s location in Central. In order to keep up with the Hong Kong climate, the floors have verandas on the side. The walls were made of heavy stones, since it also served the purpose of being a prison.

Queen Victoria road was a road named after Queen Victoria. This road was named during the handover of Hong Kong island to Britain. It’s a one-way street that stretches from connaught road central to Queen’s Road central. The road is 200m long, and has lots of colonial history residing within it. After Hong Kong was handed back to China, the urban council wanted to change the names, to not remember how Hong Kong was once ruled by others that aren’t China, and wanted to get rid of their colonial history. However, later on it was decided that the road would remain the same name.

Citibank Plaza has taken over the formal place of Murray Barracks, meant to house policemen. During July of 1989, the government decided to put the place up for sale, and it was bought for $2.7 billion from Shine Hill development. It had many features making it considered the first “intelligent” building in Hong Kong, since its features included smart entry gates, and raised flooring.
