1. Children today are different than prior generations, they have had constant exposure to digital media which changes the way they process, interact, and use information as digital children.

2. "In the face of research, we need to acknowledge that we're continuing to use standardized traditional tests to measure increasingly non-standardized brains."

3. "Throughout history, education has always struggles trying to come to terms with new innovations and tools that are central to a society only to relent later when the educational value of the new innovations and tools become clear."

Side 1: Traditional curriculum is no longer enough. "The traditional curriculum is how we transmit culture from one generation to the next. But traditional literacy is no longer enough."

Side 2: Traditional curriculum is enough. "Traditional linear logical, left to right, top to bottom beginning to end left side of the brain which is the hallmark of education today."

I believe the pros of digital media being added to the classroom outweighs any pros and cons of traditional curriculum. While traditional curriculum can be still be involved to teach history, reading, and more technology has to be added as our generations are changing and that's the only way we will reach them. Some may argue students won't be taught well, taught enough, or have boundaries with technology but with the right approaches and educators we can make anything happen.
