Global Warming is the notion that Earth's temperature is increasing due to the greenhouse effect. The planet is warming up and habitats are being destroyed. The mercury in the Earth is already up 1 degree Fahrenheit and that is not a good thing.

The cellular respiration in photosynthesis uses oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. This means the carbon dioxide levels increase. Carbon dioxide is produced in the greenhouse effect, and this causes too much of it.

Global Warming will cause extreme heat waves, as the name already states. When the heat level rises, the ice melts. This means sea levels will rise and places like the Netherlands will continue to sink underwater. In places where there are lots of rivers, there will be extreme floods.

For Global Warming to reduce its speed, the use of cars will need to be reduced. Cars produce chemical fumes that are unsafe for the atmosphere. To create more oxygen so we don't run out, more trees need to be planted. The use of fossil fuels also needs to be reduced.

The American Geophysical Union says "Atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and other heat‐trapping greenhouse gases have increased sharply since the Industrial Revolution. Fossil fuel burning dominates this increase. Human‐caused increases in greenhouse gases are responsible for most of the observed global average surface warming of roughly 0.8°C (1.5°F) over the past 140 years. Because natural processes cannot quickly remove some of these gases (notably carbon dioxide) from the atmosphere, our past, present, and future emissions will influence the climate system for millennia."
