This can be done through online activities using various online platforms such as the one attached Wordwall and others. Platforms like these assist lecturers in making informed decisions about their students, providing constructive feedback, and supporting students where necessary. Online platforms serve as online resources that students can access anytime.

Safe Learning Environment

Classrooms need to be enabling and safe for everyone involved. This can be done by getting to know students individually and requesting them to share a few things about themselves. It also allows them to know their peers better. Once, as a lecturer, you show an interest in your students, and they will likely be more comfortable and calm. Hence, a safe learning environment is created. Students will feel free to participate and share their opinions. Therefore, it will be easier to identify gaps that need to be filled.

Learning Through Scenario

Learning does not have to be formalized or institutionalized. It does not have to be limited or have certain limits or restricted to a particular level. It can happen anywhere, anyhow, at any given time. Learning through a scenario helps students develop the social and cognitive skills they need to thrive in their module/course. This can enable them to gain self-confidence in their studies and learn new things about themselves and their immediate environment. This is achieved by pairing students, giving them different concepts to deal with, and making a creative scenario that resembles the given concept. As much as each pair or group can come up with their unique presentation, this will allow audiences and presenters to learn while having fun.

Learning through resources

Having lecturers take out resources, gives students the opportunity to explore, discover, problem solve, think creatively to making their own or even using resources that will benefit them when they are teachers one day. The practically is essential for better understanding

You don't have to bring a lizard to class but can we give students an authentic experience as this will allow their knowledge to grow. Leigh's group made strong links to nature and patterns a section in mathematics.

Communicate and create

Students battle with communication as this is a skills and becomes difficult in front of a crowd encourage group work presentations or debates/role play in the classroom to foster the skill. Create presentations that easily become memorable as students learn to summaries content themselves and the presentations act as their class notes

Open Classroom Discussion

Concepts can be introduced and given to students to find meaningful meaning on their own through discussions or debates. This will provide students the opportunity to learn from others and develop the listening and speaking skills they need to thrive in all their courses and future workplace. Therefore, concepts will not be treated as stand-alone or lacking impact on students' lives.

I garnered a lot of interest and attention when teaching a 'theory intensive' section in economics.

I broke students up in 2 groups - and gave each group 10 clean sheets of paper to come up with quiz questions that I (quiz master would) ask the other group. After giving sufficient time to both groups to construct their questions, the fun began :)

I asked the questions created by group 1 to group 2 and vice versa and the class was ablaze with the spirit of competitiveness. Winning team members all received a choccie :)
