I then organised all the components to create the final animation. After, I added in the music (battle against a true hero by Toby Fox) to give it a low quality I played it on one device and recorded it on another. I then recored a voice over of my friend preforming a cheesy friendship speech. (sound warning)

i stared the running cycle by drawing the major keyframes then drew the arcs to connect them and used the arcs as key frames for the in-betweens. once that was don i then looked at the secondary moment, the ears, tale, eye, all drawing in red then rendered it ( line art, colour shading.) i tried using time lines but i think that over complicated things.

i really like this out come you can see it really clearly and i also like the subtle moments that give the character so much personalty like the head swaying and the arms now bending all make the character look more child like and makes it more wondrous.

To pixelate the outcome i used the mosaic tool on adobe illustrator. I like the outcome because of the nostalgia i get because it reminds me of old video games which links into my escapism theme but it doesn't justify the effort it took to pixelate it, exporting the frame, pixelating them, exporting them back into procreate cropping to the right size. It was fine this time because it was only 8 frames but on a larger scale it would be really annoying. I also prefer the the animation before the pixelation because it was clearer.

i added the finished animations of the cinema scene to a procreate dreams file when ever i finished one and added in all the sound effects and backgrounds. All the sound affects and music was created my c416 and or featured in the game Minecraft.

for the cloud scenes i added the animation to the same Procreate dream file as the cinema scene and added the sound effects as well as make the clouds move and in some shots rotate. (sound)

An establishing shot of the character in a cinema, the cinema represents a safe space for the character to escape to and get lost in a story.

Although wiggling ears creates a sense of whimsy there is also a sad atmosphere created be the bright blue light and empty seats.

i couldn't animate the close up shot in one go because it exceeded the layer limit so i broke it up into eating and getting scared.

The look to the audience and becoming scared is to create tension and fear. this is one of my favourite shots in the animation because of how expressive it is, and how the shoulder rise compliments the shiver. I also like how it almost involves the watcher, it’s like they are looking passed you and there is something scary behind you.

The monster represents the fear of being close to others, i wanted to show how the creature moved and how menacing it is, staring as something so small and then almost instantaneously taking up most of the screen, like how doubt in a relationship can explode onto paranoia.

i wanted the monster to be terrifying and give a feeling of claustrophobia similar to the feeling of being smothered in a relationship so i purposefully made the creature take space from my character.

this scene was difficult because i was animating 2 characters but i was able to do it by animating them one at a time. The way the creature sprouts more arms is ment to mimic a spider as spiders web and trap they’re pry and this represents the fear of being trapped in a relationship.

I wanted my animation to feel like a film so I added credits, I also thought it would be funny to make a long list of jobs and credit me. I’m not a graphic designer nor a typographer so the fonts is just my natural handwriting, but I made them move and wiggle to make it interesting.

My original plan for the beginning was to do stop motion animation to represent the real world and the animation would represent the dream but after creating the animation I thought the change to live 3D would be too jarring. I thought of a different way to represent reality.

The final frame is the character breaking the 4th wall and looking at the watcher because eye contact inherently create connection and that is what my character had been escaping from. They are taking the first step at getting over their fear, facing it head on.

I wanted reality to seen boring as people daydream when they are bored and I thought a colourless animation would fit best. I also purposely made the frames look sketchy and scribbly to look almost careless because people who indulge in escapism don’t care about their surroundings and pay no attention to them. This represents the character's mentality through a change in art style.

This scene is the monster catching up to them and the problem getting so bad that they can’t escape it, drowning in fear and being powerless.

This scene was really fun to animate and is my favourite scene because of how well is shows the characters fear and panic, but also because of how the liquid effects emphasise the arch’s in the movements.
