THE FINNISH PAST

1.About the past of Finland I know a very interesting thing. In the Command Economy era of China people bought life stuffs especially food with food coupons distributed by the government because at that time the supply of food was very limited and the population was comparatively big. Finland has also been in the same situation in World War II because Finland lost the war and had to pay stuffs for Soviet Union.

2.What surprised me about Finland was that Finland is pretty much the country where women and men have the equal rights in almost every aspects even politics. Finnish women were the first in Europe to gain the right to vote in parliamentary elections. Finland had a female president from 2000 to 2012 who's name is Tarja Halonen.

3.Finland has the population of 5.5 million people and has an average population density of 17 inhabitants per square kilometre which makes it the third most sparsely populated country in Europe, after Iceland and Norway. Population distribution is very uneven: the population is concentrated on the small southwestern coastal plain. About 85% live in towns and cities, with one million living in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area alone. In Arctic Lapland, on the other hand, there are only 2 people to every square kilometre.

VERLA

Verla is one of a kind because there are the largest rock painting in the Kymi Valley and a well preserved 19th century mill village. The rock painting at Verla has overall length of some six meters and a height of about 1.6 meters. One can make out the outline of 8 moose, 3 human beings and an angular figure as well as some figures damaged beyond recognition.Verla differs from most of the museums, where the items on display have been brought from elsewhere and isolated from their original environment. At Verla the opposite applies: traditions are honoured and nothing has been removed. The machines, more or less in running order, are still there for visitors to see and admire - a time travel back to the summer of 1964, when the mill was shut down. Only the mill workers are missing, yet even so they are present in many ways.

MY EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

I'm from China and I have been educated in Chinese education system for 20 years. China has a special education system which is called college entrance examination. Students have to pass the examination at some scores if they want to be admitted to the higher education. Chinese higher education institutes are ranked from the top to the bottom as "411" or "985" universities which includes the best universities in China, key universities, regular universities and junior colleges. They have different admission scores. Most of the students struggle to be admitted to the "411"or"985" universities which means they can get a better jobs after school in a way. A lot of Chinese criticise this education system but it's the best way to keep the equality of education at present time because there is too huge population in China and we have to measure who are qualified to get a better education since almost every source in China is limited when it comes to the population.

1.People of all nationalities have the right to enjoy the Finnish countryside freely under the traditional Finnish legal concept known as everyman's right. But together with these wide-ranging rights comes the responsibility to respect nature, other people, and property.
2.We don't have similar RIGHT in China. In China people even don't know what can or can't be done at the countryside because we don't have specific law to rule this. People judge what they can or can't do by themselves according to the general laws and common sense.
