In the Writing Strategies Book, teacher can ask students to explain the drawing, connect their character to their setting drawing, and share verbally with a partner. Many students will write their names of words they are already familiar with. Students being to connect phonemes to writing, by writing the beginning and end sounds they hear. Allow student to find a spot that work well for their writing/drawing abilities and continue to use pictures and partner pairing to help students make sense of their work, along with their peers. Offer space for students to share out in class. Making writing strategies explicit and engaging are key.</div>]]></description>
