AD 43- Romans arrive in Britian

The Romans landed in Richborough in West Susseux. The Romans couldn't find anyone to fight, as the British went to the hills to stay out of trouble. Later, the Romans were able to get some wins.

AD 44- welcomed by tribes

Many tribes let the Romans in, for protection against the Catuvellauni. Iceni became a client kingdom while Rome made a new client kingdom. The durotriges fought but where conquered. many believe the Caratacus sheltered before withdrawling to wales. (camryn)

In 78, the Romans started to draw away from Exeter. Also, the Iceni was now a full part of their empire, and the empire as a whole was very strong. Lots of fighting happening in Wales.

AD 90-200

Under Roman rule, Britian began to calm down. There was a big event happening, fighting that was most likely because of Barbarians. For defense, Hadrian built walls and the Romans moved North in AD 140-143. In 148, Damnonii grew apart on its own.

AD 200-300

The Emporer Severus's military campainge failed to achieve its goals against the cakedonii and maeatea tribes (209-211 AD). After severus's death, Rome withdrew from scotland. In 260 AD, postumus declared independence for the northwestern part of the Roman empire creating the empire of the Gallic provinces.

AD 300-382

Emporer constantius gained peace in roman Britain by defeating the highland tribes and reorganizing the provinces. the death of constantine led to renewed conflict and a big decline in roman authority. Pictish invasions marked a period of instability before Magnus maximus

AD 382-409

Maximus invade Gual with a large army in 383. He is credited with helping people protect Wales against Irish invaders. Between 384 - 390 war broke out, during when Romans defeat barbarians form Italy and goths, scotti raid still took place. more raids convinced the British to expel all roman officials (camryn)

AD 409-425

After the break of Rome there was a period of time when central administration broke down. There was no one who could hold the romanized administrative structure together. When Vortigern climbed to power in the west he brought back more unity. Later on the Roman provinces would disappear within the next forty years. (camryn)

The Romans grew powerfully in the south-east, and the Cornovii liked this. In 47-52, the Romans were struggling and Deceangli was raided. Later on, Rome built itsself in Isca, very strong.

AD 80-88

Romans were heading North, meeting near Inveresk. In 81, after troops were set up, they gained the Forth-Clyde line. In 82, they also got the western line. Romans also won battles against the Caledonians.
