You shoot me down but I won't fall." People in society must remain independent and self-reliant to be able to succeed in life there will always be greed and pride, and people will do what ever it take to put you down, so dependence upon yourself is the only solution.

He has never been good with the whole "Nice to Meet You" type of conversations. A person ever knowing the real and true tony stark is very rare because he is independent and self-reliant. For what he lacks in social skills, he makes up for them in knowledge and engineering. For Tony, he is never fulfilled, so he keeps on creating/inventing more and more things, but eventually he finds the right person and he is able to find meaning in his life.

We do what ever is the social norms are, and this is one of them. For ethos, "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being." Accept who you are and where you are because everyone to. Build off of what you have and have self-reliance to succeed.
