Muhammad was the founder of Islam. The people of the religion believe in that god (Allah) created nature and without him there would be nothing. They believe in the fie pillars which are group prayer, tithing, or giving money to charity, fasting during Ramadan, and going to Makkah once in your life if you can. Makkah is where Muhammad first began teaching Islam to people in A.D 610. The symbol of Islam is important because by extension from the symbol also for Islam as a whole. the star and crescent was used as a metaphor for the rule of the Islamic empires [Ottoman and Persian]. In Islam there is two branches, Sunni Islam and Shia Islam. The main difference between the two is that Sunni Muslims rely on the Sunnah(a record of teachings and saying from the Prophet Muhammad) to guide their actions. Shia Muslims reply more on their ayatollahs which they see as a sign that god is on earth, but other then that both branches use the same holy book The Quran.

For Theravada Buddhists, the authoritative collection of Buddhist texts is the Tripitaka (“three baskets”). These texts were first written on palm leaves in a language called Pali.
