Summary: The point of this talk is to make the connection between the disposability of plastic and people. How the problem with plastic has created an injustice for everyone but specifically poor people.
Reflection: This problem is important to me because I am someone who has a choice to use plastic or to use a more sustainable option. Economically challenged are in trouble because they likely live where plastic is burned or disposed, they likely buy the plastic options because they are the cheapest, and likely are the ones using dangerous chemicals around their house and families. No one with enough money to live in a place like California even thinks about the people who suffer and it is something that needs to be addressed. All of the climate change, global warming, whatever it may be hardly mention the injustice it does to low income families and maybe that is why there is no change solving this worldwide crisis.

The two most useful things I found on the ACLU website were that the dress code students have to follow cannot be disproportionately emphasized on one specific gender. I also found out that the enforced dress code cannot be altered if the student identifies with another gender. Since having our dress code changed it makes me wonder if our previous dress code or how many other dress codes do not give students the proper rights.

This song is about political issues and just world issues in general beginning in the '40's up until the late '80's. The lyrics call to politicians, scandals, US and world issues, and significant events. This song is significant to me because it is a timeline of history and the major events that happened have influenced what I believe in as my political ideology is influenced by my peers meaning my teacher teaching me about these topics and major events also influence like Martin Luther King Jr. and AIDS and Watergates.

1. Michael Bloomberg- His fight for climate change (NY times) As someone who is very aware of her impact on the environment, the fight against climate change can benefit current generations as well as the generations to come to live in a happy healthy world.
2. Donald Trump- His restriction on illegal immigrants (NY times). For me, I want everyone to have equal opportunities in the United States, however, I want that for those who do the right things and become US citizens. This is a controversial topic, but I believe that if we put restrictions on immigration we would have more equal opportunities for everyone using the rights we are given as US citizens.
3. Joe Walsh- His beliefs on gun ideology (ballotpedia). As someone who grew up around guns, I am aware that many people who own guns do not have a single bad bone in their body. It is not the guns fault that the trigger was pulled it is that person's fault. Those who are against gun control are obviously for this movement, but those who are not for it I think this would be a good approach to the situation: talking about gun ideology to help them understand where shooters come from.
4. Amy Klobuchar- Her strive to help drug and alcohol addiction and improve mental health (NY times). As a senior in high school I have been through mental illnesses myself and with someone implementing a plan to help those with it are increase in people with health issues can be reduced. This plan reaches a lot of people want to find themselves in tough situations and I believe that this can help raise children in prevention of this crisis.
5. Donald Trump- He's working with local law enforcement to protect communities (Ballotpedia). I am someone who is hyper-aware of who and what is around me and that includes "bad" people. With putting the people who are not aiding the country away we are limiting crime and working on the criminal justice system. The action will ensure safety for everyone and it protects rights of all American citizens. It will ensure a better environment in the real world and there will be less worry about organized crime in the US.

In reality, this "ideal" president will probably not be chosen because there are multiple ideas that conflict with one another and by that I mean with political parties. Since I am pretty moderate I would maybe expect people who were also moderate to vote for this president. However, those who are either very liberal or very conservative they would not be for this president and that is perfectly okay.

This image is something that matters to me as it resembles what Reagan was for... America. He was a president very focused on making America better and as someone who is a US citizen it is important that the president is for creating a better America.

My family: My family does not talk much about politics, but there are certain topics that they will address and once they're addressed they will stick around for a while and be referenced for a bit longer. This is where I get most of political ideology from as I have become aware that my parents beliefs closely match mine. My immediate family is also in law enforcement and my sister and I also want to follow a similar path which I know has had a great influence on my beliefs. With their influence I have also begun to note where I differ from them and why, for example, climate change it is something for me that needs to be fixed whereas for my family it is not as bug a deal which is totally okay and with more knowledge who knows I could easily agree or I don't have to.
Social Media: social media has been a huge influence. It has grown even more because certain people are beginning to express their political views and since the president is interactive with citizens via social media. The people I follow have their own views and once I heard their side I begin to think that that is the right thing to think. I feel that it is totally normal for big name social media users or just those of your friends that you follow to have an influence because those are the people everyone, including me, trust and look up to. Since social media is on a big high right now there is also more advertising platforms that get me on more social media because I want to see what my friends or celebrities are saying. Even if they do not talk about politics or political aspects directly they do hint at them unintentionally which furthers my own beliefs.

I am pretty moderate on the political party spectrum which means I have views from both sides of the spectrum; however as I learned more about what things were (not one who knows a lot about government) and who believed what I feel as though I fall slightly more Republican. My initial thought would be to register as independent, but then thinking more about it I am not sure what I would register as it would make sense to register as Republican since I do fall more into that party, but I don't feel I fall into it enough.

These students walked out of class to march in the streets that protested school segregation policies. Black students are segregated from white students in majority white people schools. This did not directly change the district policy but it helped more young people see that segregation was wrong in education systems. It is sad to say that Chicago is said to be one of the most segregated big-city school nations. Despite this fact, the boycott helped other find light with their district policies. I think today students can take the information from other young activist and begin to ponder on if they find anything wrong with systems and take action. All the Chicago kids did was walk out of school and onto the streets. There is a lot youth can do and they are able to reach other young people to build up their stance because it is their right.
