The Proclamation Act was intended to keep peace between the Native Americans and the new settlers. Therefore, the settlers were not allowed to go  west of the Adirondack Mountains.

Why did the British pass the act?
The British passed the act to make sure that there was separation between the colonists and the Native Americans.

How did the colonists react?
Most of the colonists ignored the act and passed through the lands anyway.

The British passed the act so the governors and judges would stay loyal to Great Britain. The British did this because not all the colonists were loyal so they had to pay the trusted higher class.

How did the colonists react?
This act made the colonists very upset so protests turned out to be deadly riots.

The Quartering Act forced colonists to supply housing and food for  British soldiers at any given time.

Why did the British pass the act?
The British passed the act in response to the increased costs of British defense. The British wanted to save money by having soldiers stay with the colonists.

How did the colonists react?
