I can tell when advice is good/bad when I visualize the outcomes of the advice. For example, if someone tells me to eat poisonous berries, I do NOT do it. I would die. Not good.

I think that "Seize the Day" is good advice in general. We should try to do our best everyday and make the most of it. We shouldn't pass up the chance to make things better if we can. Also, we should try to do things now and not procrastinate and put off things until later.

However, always "Seizing the Day" can be very hard to do and be super stressful. We need time to relax and not always push ourselves 100% or we might get burnt out!

You know when advice is good if it empowers you to do it it you know you can trust it. you know when it is is bad because you would know it can hurt you or someone else or cause future problems.

I'm more likely to trust advice and think it is good if it is from someone I know to be trustworthy. It also helps if it is from someone who has experienced the same situation I am in. If they have never done it before or can't relate to my situation, it might be hard for me to trust what their advice!

Bad advice is typically something I don't morally agree with. If it is advice telling me to do something wrong, then I need to have the confidence and power to recognize that the advice I'm getting isn't good!

As a teacher, I should hopefully feel confident in giving advice as long as it's something I know about. If it's something I don't know very well, I might suggest they ask someone else at school or in their life that I know could give better advice than my own. It's important to feel confident when to give advice and know when to defer to someone else who knows more about the topic!
