My expectations for Civics are too learn about how the government operates and more about the way the government effects us.
Honestly, I'm not very up to date on the presidential election. I haven't kept up with it as well as I wish I had, with that being said I am interested in learning about it. At the moment I have no idea who I would vote for. I want to learn more about each candidate is going to offer and what they are about.

Sandra Day O'Conner started in 1981, and is wasn't until 1996 that Ruth Bader Ginsburg
joined the supreme court. It took over 10 years for another women to step up and do what Sandra did.

1. My favorite part of the movie was that Jefferson Smith stood up for what he wanted. He was not afraid to show tell people what he believed in. Even though Smith was framed he did not give up, and came back to Washington even when he was upset about being in trouble. Jefferson Smith showed that he was truly brave and overcame his internal struggles to defend what he wanted. At the beginning of the movie it was boring to watch but towards the end I was really interested in it. I think that the ending could have been better but overall the movie was interesting and I enjoyed watching it.

2. Personally I think Mr.Smith belonged to the Democratic party. Jefferson Smith believed in a government by the people, for the people. He wanted what was best for others, not just himself. I think that Jefferson Smith definitely continued his political career. He made a huge impact on a lot of people's lives and giving up is not what he would do. Smith did not give up when even his is darkest moments, so it would not make sense that he quit at his highest career point. Jefferson Smith was probably very successful, especially if he kept fighting for what he truly wanted.

3. I compared Tammy Duckworth to Jefferson Smith. Both are democratic and fight for what they believe in. Tammy Duckworth and Jefferson Smith were also both accused of something. Mr.Smith words were changed to make him sound different. When he found out he was very angry towards the newspapers and things got violent, he ended up leaving Washington. Tammy Duckworth was accused of falsely supporting the veterans and allegations were reported of her talking down to veterans. Duckworth tries to avoid talking about these allegations. Even though both were angry and they have different approaches of expressing it, neither gave up on fighting for what they want.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2012/11/04/internal-email-reveals-tammy-duckworth-lied-to-constituents-about-lawsuit/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Smith_Goes_to_Washington
