A self-portrait is a picture that artists make of themselves. Artists can show things that they care about in their self portraits. Marc Chagall added things he cared about and painted them all around his head.

Today your artwork should be a self portrait. Try and draw it lower on the paper because all around your head, you will add pictures of things that you care about or enjoy!

Laurel Burch used fun bright colors and interesting patterns in her designs, which she hoped would make people happy. The patterns and colors weren't colors or patterns we'd see in nature, but more from her imagination.

In your drawing use your imagination and use colors that we wouldn't see in real life. Add pattern designs that would be unrealistic too. Below is an example of many different line and pattern designs you could use as inspiration!

Check out my picture below. I drew a robot that would clean up trash at the parks. I needed my background to help tell that story, so I drew my robot outside. I added details of things i might find at a park like trees, flowers and playground equipment.
Don't forget to draw a ground line so that things that are on the ground, look like they are not floating in the sky.

Color using any supplies you have at home.
