Summary: Open follows Agassi's 1986 tennis career through his childhood and ups and downs as a professional tennis player. This novel describes Andre’s life as a fascinating figure on and off the court, his marriage with the formerly women’s #1 tennis player Steffi Graf, and how he went from the #1 to unranked. Agassi shares vivid memories of his childhood and the relationship he had with his ungenial and stony father. 

Review: In my opinion, Open is an outstanding and lively autobiography of Andre Agassi. Some of my favorite aspects of this book are most of the main parts, which include Agassi’s 17 Masters 1000 victories, his 7-year relationship with Steffi Graf, and his poor relationship with his father. Since the author is the main character, he told his life story in a vivid and descriptive way. There was one part in the novel that I did not enjoy. During a match between Agassi and Medvedev, Andre lost a huge point to possibly win a set. However, he came out on the bottom, the small crowd cheered loudly, and Agassi screamed to the top of his lungs and broke his racket. Overall, I would recommend this book because Andre Agassi’s life story seems interesting and I want to be just like him. I think anybody who is a fan of tennis would enjoy this book.

The whole story is about a new family that Meg got into because of an incident in the past. One of the key events is why Meg went to a new family. The incident was with her former family about the accident. Megan and her younger sister Susan moved in with their alcoholic aunt Ruth and her three sons.

Review: My opinion about The Girl Next Door is a very impressive book that conveys its very essence. One of the moments I liked about David helping Meg regardless of the danger and helping to send a signal at the end of the book through a very unusual thing, fire. But there are many moments that I am simply disgusted to look at. And when the bullying started, David couldn't do anything and just looked at everything with pain, and thought that the best solution at that time was to just get scared and walk away. I recommend this book to people who are not afraid to read about how someone is beaten and raped.     The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite is primarily set in a nondescript futuristic time period in what is implied to be Paris, France. The story begins with the spontaneous birth of 43 children around the world. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a genius inventor, finds and adopts seven of these children with the intention of using them to “save the world,” or so he claims. These children would form The Umbrella Academy. Hargreeves succeeds in making heroes of six of the seven children, but the seventh remains an ordinary child, whom Hargreeves’ wife names Vanya. Instead of saving the city, Vanya spends her time playing the violin, away from her siblings and father. The story continues 30 years later. One of this book’s primary themes is that familial relationships can help you through difficult times, and that family should always be there for each other.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The art was outstanding, and each page perfectly fit the grim mood of the story. One of my favorite pairs of pages was the scene where the orchestra created La Viole Blanche (The White Violin). The first page uses pitch black and white, along with a jumble of bright red music notes and symbols in the background: the next page has a similar background, but is completely monochrome, using only black, white, and cool grays. Overall, the story is fantastic and the characters are relatable and human, despite being supernatural themselves. Each character has their own struggles, including Rumor losing custody of her daughter shortly before the funeral, and Kraken’s struggle with his hatred for his father. Each of the six chapters was enjoyable to read, and the story kept me entertained and invested throughout the entire graphic novel. For these reasons, I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who likes dark and supernatural stories, as well as anyone who is interested in graphic novels. I loved this book and I am excited to read the others in the series. 
    One important symbol that I noticed is the umbrella. It also appears as a motif on the outfits of the six heroes, as well as in their group name, The Umbrella Academy. The umbrella represents protection, more specifically protection from the apocalypse, which is the entire reason that the academy exists.

It is told from a third-person omniscient point of view, allowing the reader to understand how truly scared these soldiers are. One thing the novel does well is capturing the zeitgeist of war in the 1940s and then contrasting these propagated views with the horrors of war. It shows these are just kids who have to experience the horrors of war. One aspect of D-Day Allies tackled poorly was its failure to give any perspective from a Nazi soldier. This novel depicts these men as flat characters who heartlessly murderer innocent people when most of them were brainwashed by Hitler or scared to leave the army. Not investigating this idea further feels like a missed opportunity that could have added to the story. It focuses mainly on long term invesments instead of short term. It shows you how to invest with the least amount of risk possible. The author believes that investing should include research instead of guessing. He says that you cannot predict the future. He also trains you mentally by saying that to be succesfull you have to be psychologically prepared. It says that when investing one should be strategic and well thought out when making decisions. Overall, The Intelligent Investor teaches you how to be safe with your money and make smart decisions when investing.

    Review: I really enjoyed reading it because I am obsessed with business and have always been interested in he stock market. This gave me plenty of information that was needed because most of my investments have been short term hoping that I could get a few extra bucks. Now I changed my investing view to invest for the future. I would reccomend this to anyone that is interested in investing or the business world. The Theme of the book is to be smart with your money and how to invest whilst minimizing loss. Symbols and Motifs in the book are not present because the book is eduational rather than a fictional novel. It is third person limited because it is a educational book and you dont know to much.

    I only have two words to describe Gone Girl: shocking and terrifying. While I must admit that the beginning of the book can bore a reader, when the book gets good, it gets exquisite. Using dairy narration, the reader sees the true feelings of Amy and the snapshots of her feelings and past with Nick. Gillian Flynn's excellent characterization of her characters create round characters, but especially Nick and Amy make this novel shine as they both seem so out-of-this-world but their humanity still leaks through their shared cunning nature. Both characters are unreliable narrators and that's what makes Gone Girl such a fantastic read. With twists and turns at every corner, this novel excels at keeping readers on their toes. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery. It's a long read but the story never releases the reader from its grasp. Where you meet the main character Teddy Fitzroy and his girlfriend, Summer McCracken. Summer's father, J.J. McCracken owns FunJungle. Teddy is renowned for solving mysteries, so when the giraffes at FunJungle get poisoned J.J. asks Teddy and Summer to investigate. The main mystery is about a dog named king that was killed. King's owner, Lincoln Stone is a famous TV show host. Recently there has been a mountain lion around the area, and Lincoln believes that the mountain lion killed king. The mountain lion's name is Rocket, and Lincoln starts a manhunt for Rocket. As Lincoln tries to get Rocket declared a nuisance, he offers five hundred thousand dollars for the person who kills Rocket. In the meantime an animal activist seeks Teddy and Summer's help, as she believes Rocket was framed. *(SPOILERS)* In the end of the novel it is revealed that it was the security officer that accidentally food poisoned the giraffes, and that one of Lincoln's friends accidentally killed King because he attacked her son.

    Review: In my opinion Lion Down is an interesting and pleasing book. It intrigued my curiosity, and I was playing a guessing game along with the characters. While reading you gain the same experience as the characters because the book is in first person limited. The book did not necessarily have any symbols or motifs, because it was about solving a mystery and finding clues to lead to the answer. This book has a theme of protecting animals because the whole book is about coming up with evidence to defend Rocket, and to protect her. Stuart Gibbs focuses on the same theme in all of his FunJungle books, as they all have the central idea of protecting and defending animals.

This Nobel prize winning novel highlights such as Lennie's internal innocence, as he does not know the harm that he bestows upon others. As well as the kinship that unites different people that are stuck in the same situation and outsiders lack of understanding.

    Review: Of Mice and Men is a heart wrenching novel that makes you end up with a pit in your stomach. Lennie's mental disability makes it difficulty for him to see the harm that he is causing, and in turn difficult for him to change. The way that Lennie is treated due to his disability is terrible. The rabbits are a symbol for a future that is not within reach for George and Lennie. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone. Ruth could control Meg and Susan. One time when Megan gave a painting to David, who was depicted in the painting sucking a crayfish. When Ruth found out, she simply pretended that everything was fine when David was in the house. But then there was a punishment. The symbol here is Meg, the girl whom David loves. Hence the name, because Megan was David's neighbor. The motive here is violence in the family and the power of adults. I mean the dominance of adults over children. If Megan or Susan disobeyed Ruth, they were punished. But this rule did not apply to other children, Ruth only scared her own children.
