https://padlet.com/schaefer_b/f1969hox3sjg By: Becky Schaefer en-us 2017-02-28 23:10:33 UTC 2025-09-25 17:34:41 UTC hello@padlet.com schaefer_b https://padlet.com/schaefer_b/f1969hox3sjg/wish/157417687  Everyone having the same common goal was one of the patterns I saw during my interviews.  All of the professionals stated that their priority is having  the best interest of the student(s).  By collaborating and working together, helps meet the needs of the students.  A special education teacher said the benefits of co-teaching is increased resources and extra support to address students' needs which will increase student achievement, and help students with special needs access the general education curriculum.  It is also a great way to use various co-teaching approaches towards a positive learning environment.  Teachers can also work together to set learning targets for students based on the standards which help guide instruction.

All participants surveyed find it difficult to schedule time to collaborate with other co-workers regarding co-teaching, consulting, and collaborating. There tends to be limited time for common planning. 
 Flexibility was another factor, especially when it comes to co-teaching.  In order for co-teaching to be successful, responsibilities need to be shared, however some may be unwilling to view co-teaching as a partnership. There also needs to be a willingness and flexibility to use different co-teaching styles in the classroom
