The Russians would also invade countries and then force their communist ideals onto them. Russia was seeking power and trying to gain it fast and the United States did not want this to happen. The U.S. was defending the countries in Europe that were being attacked and forced into being a part of the USSR.

The Cold war also helped the West evade Communist rule; without intervention from The U.S. forces China and The Soviet Union might have conquered Europe and The U.S.. Overall, the Cold War still has a legacy with us today, and still continues to impact our everyday life.

    Influence over Eastern Europe: The USSR had many countries that now are free from Soviet rule, but at the time, spreading the Soviet agenda and controlling weaker nations helped to grow the USSR's influence and sense of strength.
