Graduates are just happy they have graduated, what they don't know is the debt will swallow them.

2) The intended audience is those in college or going to college

3) It can be applied to pathos because of the danger we can see and the fear we feel for the student about to be dead.

4) It's effective in conveying it because it shows the students aren't aware of the danger they are in with how many loans they have. While taking a selfie, the smile on their face conveys they don't see the big snake about to eat them, which is the loans and debt they have to pay off now.

What message is being conveyed?

The cartoon itself shows education's priority of core academic subjects such as math, reading, and writing over subjects like art, PE, and Science. Additionally, the students themselves are evidently young, likely elementary students who are shown having information forced into their minds. Interestingly, unlike the expressionless and gray students who are writing, there is one student who stands out for their bright colors while looking at the “discretionary” subjects. It can be gauged that the message is that education has had an ill effect on students causing them to lose individuality in favor of being disciplined in learning.

Who is the intended audience of this message?

The intended audience that the message was most likely meant for was for school boards, or any individuals who have a career in academics.

Does the message appeal to ethos, logos, and/or pathos? Why?

The message appeals to pathos with a bit of logos as it brings up a contentious and emotional topic regarding the impact school courses have on children.

Do you think this image is effective at conveying the message?

I believe the image does an exceptional job of conveying a message with use of subtle imagery and coloring, especially on the students themselves who should be focus of the message.

- The message being conveyed is to stop smoking so your kids (or relatives) don't smoke too.

- The intended audience of this message is parents or anyone who lives with kids.

- The message appeals to ethos because it relates to the ethics and morals of the audience; it almost asks to "do the right thing" in regards to smoking.

- I think that this image is effective at conveying the message. The image displays crayons in the place of cigarettes and it kids writing that says "Just like mommy." This can be related to the fact that kids will usually aspire to be like their parents and have a lot of admiration for them. If a parent smokes it could be likely that their child will too. But as the adults, the parents know that smoking can be harmful to their kid, and that might encourage them to stop.

1) The message conveyed by this image is the beauty standard of models, and women in general, are awful and should be changed. The beauty standards that society has set has made many girls and women insecure and frail compared to what models should be for.

2) The intended audience is for the people who participate and enhance the insecurity that women have, such as model agencies.

3) This message appeals to pathos due to the comparison between a healthy and happy looking woman to a frail and unsmiling woman. The woman that represents the women of the world is nothing but skin and bones which represents what people expect of women now.

4) I believe this image does an amazing job at conveying the message with the words used and the contrasting images of the two women with drastically different appearances. The bright colors of the woman on the left compared to the dull colorless woman on the right gives a clear distinction between them and their emotions.
