The British government was taxing the American colonists so that they could pay for soldiers who would protect the American Colonies. This meant the American Colonies were paying taxes so that they could be protected, so they were not paying taxes for no reason. It was also fair because the American Colonists were living in the American colonies and it shouldn’t be free. As stated, it was fair the British government was taxing the American colonists.
