The 3/5 Compromise was an act around the slaves. It was made due to the disagreement between the northern and southern states. It said that 3/5 slaves would be counted in the population. This was made so that the southern states wouldn't have so much representation in court. The southern states still had a lot of power over the northern states, giving them more representatives in court due to the population difference.

The Great Compromise made 2 different branches of government. This made the senate and the house of representatives. This compromise made it so that both sides got what they wanted. The House of representatives fit the Virginia plan more than it fit the New Jersey plan. The Senate made it so it fit the New Jersey plan more. The senate made the governments of all states equal no matter the population. The House of Representatives made it so the states with the higher population would have more representatives.

The Commerce compromise was made because the north and south disagreed on who got to regulate trade. The North was more industrial so they wanted the National Government to regulate trade. The South was afraid that having the national government control trade would threaten slave trade. The compromise said that slaves were legal. It also said that they couldn't vote on the ability of having slaves for 20 years.

This act was very controversial because the northern states didn't like the act. The majority of the northern people didn't follow this act. The act was not very successful for good reason in the end
