1. The causes of gender inequality are numerous and derive from various situations or elements such as those described below:
Role allocation. From childhood, boys and girls can associate certain roles according to gender. For example, women can be associated with the family and the home and men can be associated with work and obtaining resources to support the family. This takes women away from work, produces the gender pay gap, and makes it difficult for women to access managerial positions.
2. Education system. Certain aspects of the educational system perpetuate these beliefs about male and female roles, for example, so that women have less access to studies related to science.
3. Media. On many occasions the news and the way of reporting by the media continue to support those gender roles that take root in the population and produce negative effects on women.
4. Inequality at work.
