Using VLEs has a lot of advantages for both of teacher and student. It is said that these sources make it possible teaches to use their time efficiently. For student, they can use these facilities to submit assignments, access learning materials and use forums to take part in seminar discussions with their classes. I think we can say that these systems give students better studying environment because  their English skills and specific subject skills may improve a lot through sharing opinion with their peers and reading important materials on these system.

 

Regarding to usage of these programs, they are used by 250,000 students, over 20 per cent of whom are based overseas. Happily, they enable people in other countries to get opportunities to study.

I learnt some vocabulary and definition of TR, like seminar, AWL……

I have a basic idea about how I can write summary of a topic.

DIFFICULT

To find a heading of each paragraph is so hard to me. I spent much time on understanding meanings of paragraphs, but often find a wrong one.

1, try to catch words especially key words and try to write down even the spelling is incorrect

2, read or research about the lecture contents before if its possible

3, write down both the contents which you understand and don’t understand ( if you don’t understand, you tend to stop taking note maybe)

a)Organisation

I learned that I need clear organization for my writing. Clear organization has to be include backgrounds, sophisticated thesis, and map for introduction, and main topic, supporting arguments and short summary for each paragraph. These are necessary to make readers concentrate on main idea and navigate.

b) Cohesion

Effective cohesion makes my writing more concise and precise. It must be remembered that only appropriate and natural cohesion will be accepted to aid readability. In addition, using variety of cohesive devises is also beneficial to provide successful sentences.

c) Language

Academic language is appropriate such as formal and impersonal. And wide range of vocabulary including successful use of AWL can allow some flexibility and precision. To make the contents concise, very good use of of noun phrase is helpful idea.

As it shown in the lecture, filter bubbles become an obstacle to cognizing new things because the internet filters the information your read. I  agree with this view. Internet alter our life-style and promote the connection with people, however, it also allow people living in a world, filled with bubbles created by a huge algorithm that affect what you see, which in turn impacts what you are. In addition, filter bubbles give you the feeling that you were tracked by others. For example, amazon can recommend some goods that you have searched recently. It means  the personal information have been recorded and can be read by others, which may cause trouble to people.
