As each student completed a section of their graphic organizer, I gave them a ticket (I meant to do stickers, but they're buried deep in my cabinet). In addition, I allowed students to choose a woman in their life that they found inspiring for their writing. 

I feel all of this went well, most students chose to use the paper graphic organizer, but the ones who used the digital version were very glad to have that as an option. Using the tickets incentivized most students to complete the assignment in a timely manner. For this lesson I provided all of my students with their typical graphic organizers. However, I took it a step further this time and had them analyze an argumentative essay with me. They each were provided a copy of this example essay (it does not follow our prompt but it is argumentative) and then we annotated it together in class.
