Is one of the most famous and distinctive buildings of the 20th century. Declared a World Heritage Site in 2007, it was designed by architect Jorn Utzon in 1957 and opened on October 20, 1973 by Queen Elizabeth ll. It has 46 years old.
Theater, ballet, opera or musical productions are performed in the building. It's the most modern building in the world that has received the title of World Heritage Site.
The building receives about 4 million tourists on a year.
It's huge, it's 185 metres long, it's 120 metres wide, it's 65 metres high, and it's 1,7 kilometres from the city centre of Sydney.
The Opera House is a building that you can visit at any time. Durning the day, the Box Office is open, and you are more than welcome to explore inside the building. To explore further, you can see a show or take a tour. The shows begin at 7;30 p.m., Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and Sundays at different hours in the afternoon. Shows usually last 2 or 3 hours.
