         <description><![CDATA[<div>Internet searches and  texts are mostly meant to be  scanned and looked over rather quickly whereas  textbooks and books are meant to be read carefully and thoroughly. <br><br>The author says reading is done "to achieve an end", which can mean many things.<br><br>before reading the purpose is externally imposed (Ex. to complete an assignment for school) or internally generated (Ex. Wanting to learn about the stock market)<br><br>While reading, the purpose is to process and decode the text using linguistic and semantic processing and monitoring<br><br>After reading is simply is to apply the knowledge you picked up through the text.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To challenge our comprehension skills.<br><br>Teaching reading comprehension is becoming harder as time goes on because students are expected to read more complex texts and read texts more frequently. Students need to do this in order to pass high stake exams like the LSAT and make themselves employable in the future.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Electronic texts present challenges when it comes to comprehension<br>2) Reading comprehension is now more difficult to teach in schools because students are expected to read more complex texts and school are not able to track the students to separate students who can and cannot comprehend the more difficult texts.<br>3) Knowledge, application, and engagement are viewed as 3 direct consequences of reading.<br>4)  A good reader is meant to process readings in a particular way which involves a high level linguistic processing and monitoring.</div>]]></description>
