Also check out FIGHT by Brockhmapton for more introspective music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WUAh1vPIB0
or 48 by Tyler the Creator
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxWyE9cjAb8
Junky- Brockhampton
The song addresses that supporting homosexuality does not make one a homosexual. This is done to support people to try and stand up for homosexuals and lose the fear of facing that accusation becoming said. It also mentions rape culture. When this is done it is simply showing how people who try to take advantage of women need to stop doing so. It also tackles how although family problems can be around, it is important to to try to get along with them even if you are unhappy with them and if you don't you will regret it. Important music elements to focus on would be the instrumentation since it is so complex and also how the members of the collective manage to flow between one another so seamlessly and also the lyrical content of the song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AR7SenR2Hc
Roses- Kanye West
This song tackles the importance of family and the need to stick together and act as the unit you really are. It discusses how unfair medical treatment is due to favoring the rich and this is all done through him talking in an anecdote of a previous experience where his grandmother passed away and not much could be done to save her. The most important musical element to focus on in this piece is easily the subject matter as for me at least the lyrics are very relatable and hit close to home.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsbnK-SUjdU
Garden Shed ft Estelle- Tyler the Creator
This song is about the ability of wanting to express one's self to the public and to overcome the feeling of being unable to do so out of fear of public perception. This is done by being yourself and the artist embracing things like their sexuality or quirks. Most important musical element is the instrumentation since it is beautiful.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VgLwAjz4oA

1) Social Justice Issues id like to dress in my songs are on immigrant based profiling and stereotyping.
2) The piece that is (hopefully) most influential in my piece is Garden Shed as that song is instrumentally perfect and manages o speak on social issues without yelling them at your face.
3) Id be performing my piece in alternative lofi hip-hop since I think it is a good stepping stone that would allow me to be a bit more varied in my instrumentation and subject matter.
4) Id like to begin performing in some sort of string instrument, preferably a guitar of some sort, similar to Garden Shed.

1)
Western women bear strange kids,
Blood on the knees and strained lids.
Children on their hands and knees,
For acceptance they will appease.

Beautiful choirs echo in halls,
Bread and wine, scents familiar to all.
Communities brought to rejoice,
giving generations no choice.

These are the kids for people to nurture,
With nothing but restrictions in the future.
They say put God first and you'll never be last,
Gone is 1st place- just that fast.

What I have created are lyrics. They are inspired and follow the same rhyme pattern as Strange Fruit by Nina Simone and instead of talking about racism and lynchings as she did, I am discussing the societal pressure for people to conform to a certain religion. I focus how this pressure is first expressed when young, and can limit certain people to thrive and do certain things they want, just to please others.

3) Next ill compose chords for the song to follow.

1)This time I have added to my piece chords which will be the bulk of the song.

2)My new material now just makes the piece sound more musical as the the lyrics are spoken and not sung or rapped. For this reason the chords will most likely make the song sound more like a song.

3) What my piece still needs to be Youtube ready is probably some editing and polishing of the lyrics and chords

1) In addition I have included the right hand in playing with he songs and have it simply accompany the chords.
2) My influences were Nina Simone's Strange Fruit mainly and her discography as a whole.

3) My piece contributes and progresses the topic of social change by having lyrics talking of acceptance of things like religion.

4) What my song needs to be finished is a tittle, which would be, "Strange Book".

1) The tittle of my piece is Strange Book and this is because the point of the song is to be a remix of sorts to Strange Fruit. Moreover the book part comes from this having to do with Religion.

2)The instrumentation of my piece is the grand piano only and vocals that I did not provide but are in spirit with the lyrics.
3)My work has to do with the social issue of forced religion because it is serving the purpose to let it be known that the action of super imposing a religion to someone that is not willing or unaware is cruel.
5) What I want the audience to take away from my post is that forced religion is not a good thing at all and that it comes across as cruel as forcing people to do anything else they don't want to believe, this is especially the case in America as we have freedom of religion but so many kids are forced to be a part of a religion they did not want to be associated with.

Lyrics

Western women bear strange kids,
Blood on the knees and strained lids.
Children on their hands and knees,
For acceptance they will appease.

Beautiful choirs echo in halls,
Bread and wine, scents familiar to all.
Communities brought to rejoice,
giving generations no choice.

These are the kids for people to nurture,
With nothing but restrictions in the future.
They say put God first and you'll never be last,
Gone is 1st place- just that fast.
