Garden designer Darren Hawkes is set to wow the crowds at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 with his ‘secret’ garden. Enclosed by a hedge more than two metres high, from the outside it will be shrouded in mystery. Follow Darren’s progress in his Chelsea Flower Show Diary, as the build-up to the show begins.

Darren’s Linklater’s Garden for Maggies for the Chelsea Flower Show is inspired by the work of the charity ‘Maggies’, which provide support for people with cancer and their family and friends. Part of their work includes creating outside spaces away from a clinical environment and Darren has used this ethos in creating his Chelsea Flower Show garden.

The only way to view the inside of Darren Hawkes’ garden in its entirety, is to climb some steps where the garden can be seen from a raised platform. Inside, the garden will be a tranquil space full of soft, informal planting including rambling roses, peonies and hostas.
