There we many slaves in New York to fulfill the need for labor in the farms and factories. The New York Colony traded with New England Colonies, Middle  Colonies, and Southern Colonies. The most popular items being corn, wheat, metals, and livestock. The main industries are agriculture and manufacturing this allowed for this trade.

Originally the Dutch formed the colony along the Hudson River for trading. The English formed it because the colony was taken from the dutch.The type of people That moved to and lived in New York were primarily trappers and traders they moved there because of the abundance of beaver on the Hudson river.

They had, British governor, and council, eventually changing places with elected assembly. The assembly passed 15 laws. By 1775 New York was governed as a royal colony.

The average temperature in the winter is 35 degrees. The winter are cold with snow, and summers are rarely in the 90's or 100's.   
There are Mountains in the northeast near Canada. On the Canadian border there are lowlands near lake Ontario. There is access to the Atlantic ocean, and in New York they have all the seasons of the year.
The average rainfall in New York is about 45 inches per year.
