<title>As a special education teacher I feel that universal design for learning is something that I do on a constant basis, but am not really aware that that is what I am doing. I will adapt lessons and ways of presenting information that can often benefit other students, besides the ones I work with. </title>

<title>UDL is a very important component to my teaching. It is critical to for my sanity to keep lessons &amp;amp; rubrics consistent. &amp;nbsp; My primary course leads up to a high-stakes state test and there is no modification of the test itself for any students, even those with IEPs. &amp;nbsp; Therefore, it is critical that I create multiple means for students with different abilities to access and develop content knowledge meaningfully.</title>

<title>Universal Design for learning means having a variety of &quot;learning avenues&quot; for students that will get them to the same end. It&#39;s important to remember that students learn in different ways -ex. visual, kinesthetic, auditory, etc. When I hear &quot;UDL&quot; I immediately think of assistive &amp;amp; adaptive technology.</title>

<title>I only know that UDL is giving options so that everyone can learn in their own way and all reach the same goal. Teachers need to be flexible and allow students to learn in a way the teacher might not be used to.</title>
