Dear Robin,
I remember fifth grade so fondly - the 2004 mock election in our classroom, getting my ‘dream’ of Nevada (?!) for the state project, and a field trip to a NASA simulator, all sheparded by our kind, genuine, fearless leader. 

Toward the end of that year you gave us all your phone number and said if we ever needed you as we went off to middle and high school to just give you a call and you’d be there no matter what. I was so sad to be moving away to Minnesota because I knew it would take a little while for you to make it out there but I was sure you would if I really needed you!

You, like many of my wonderful Bertschi School teachers, are the role models I look to for guidance as I lead my own classroom now. 

Thanks for your dedication, love and enthusiasm. Enjoy retirement; you deserve it!

One of my first memories at Bertschi is supporting your class on a field trip where we took the Metro Bus to a location I don't remember. After we returned I remember being impressed with how great of a leader you were and how the kids responded to you and your directions. AND YOU MADE IT LOOK SO EFFORTLESS. I came to the realization that if this is just a little bit of what Bertschi is like I think I made the right decision of joining this community. I2 years later I am still here. I also remember when staff introduced themselves to parents and announced how many years they taught at Bertschi school, I teared up at your dedication to the place that you clearly loved. Your consistent willingness and desire to continue to develop your skills as a teacher , even when it was clear to everyone you were doing an excellent job, has set a tone for all the teachers in the school.  This legacy of thriving on new learning will live on, and I will miss you terribly.

I just happened to run across a full page letter you sent our Charlotte for her birthday - including a picture and poem. It brought tears to my eyes - which is becoming easier and easier to do at my age I must say - but nonetheless it was so beautifully written and was so apparent that you knew Char. You did so much for Char I don't know where to start,  but thank you, thank you. She is more confident, more passionate in her strengths and less critical of areas where she might not be as strong because you were her teacher. What an amazing gift you gave to our Char. Best of luck and congratulations!
