Frank - Homeless man staying in Crown Hill. He helped Antonio settle into the homeless community.

Summary - Antonio's family was murdered by the Guatemala military. He was also supposed to be killed, but he escaped to the U.S where he became homeless. Unexpectedly, he re econutered the man who was responsible for his family's death. Antonio was committed to seek revenge. Because of the social turnmoil in Los Angeles, Antonio eased his way of killing Longoria.

Helen is the white woman who is very opinionated and independent. She writes letters to Julio detailing her difficulties in moving to Spanish Harlem. She and Julio have different perspectives on social issues facing Spanish Harlem and the actions taken by the people. 
Tromp Loco (Eduardo) is the infidel son of Eddie who lives in squalor and is in search of a job. 
Papelito own a botanica and covers for Julio for the payment of his apartment. He own the building, and also encourages Julio to embrace his spiritual path 
Eddie is the main antagonist who introduces Julio to a life of arsonism. He blackmails Julio into burning down his own apartment complex, and refuses to accept Trompo Loco as his son 
Mario is an undercover cop who's cover image is a construction worker at the same site as Juilo. He uses this to get close to Julio and extract information about Maritza 
JH: his full name Eddie Neglioni and he is Italian; Felix Camillo (Papelito's real name); also there is Antonio who works at construction site, is undocumented, dating Helen
JH: Papelito's orisha is Yemaya, Julio makes altar for the orisha Ochun and name of botanica is San Lazaro y Las Siete Vueltas (Saint Lazarus and the Seven turns)
