I've taken this photo on a very cold day on my way to work. When I was little we used to have this much snow in the southern Finland. I remember we used to jump from the roof to the snow, because there was so much of it and it was soft. Now when I go back to my mum and dad's there might be some snow during the Christmas holiday or not at all. I have even raked the old leaves on the Christmas day one year. Now I live above the arctic Circle and we still have snow from October to the end of April but will this be gone with the climate change or will it be impossible to live here if the Amoc is destroyed.

I would probably choose this photo to introduce the topic of climate crisis.

In my opinion, the climate crisis primarily means the loss of biodiversity. The increasingly frequent wildfires and the many habitats becoming more and more inhospitable are the most concrete examples of what we are causing to our world, and they are also the beginning of a catastrophe that will affect us sooner than later.

I think this picture reppresents exactly the tipping points we`ve been discussing in Module 2. I believe it could make my students think and I could be able to introduce the frame for a discussion. Climate change makes me feel afraid of the future. Not for myself, because I am not so young anymore and I will probably die before tipping points are reached, but I am affraid for our children. I don`t want to leave this to my child or grandchildren :-(
