Also, in 1976, Damadian produced the first scan of a live animal, a mouse with cancer. In 1983, Damadian nand FONAR introduced a mobile scanner allowing hospitals and clinics that couldn't afford a scanner, to share one. Then, in 1988, Damadian received the National Medal of Technology, the nation's highest honor in technology from then president Ronald Reagan. He also got to shake hands with Reagan.
