Ever since I was 6 years old my family had a boat and would go on it every summer the day that we went on the boat my dad would point out that the fish population keeps getting lower and lower every day. I bet you like fish too. The amount of fish that are in the ocean is crazy but if we don't stop overfishing we might not be able to eat or see the number of other species of fish. The population of fish that are in the ocean or even billions might be gone if we don't do something about it the fish will be gone.

        Senator Stabenow, the problem that our oceans are facing is overfishing because many people live off fish, and when people fish overfished they are fewer fish in the ocean and people do illegal fishing all the time that is why we have to make legislation. However, another reason why there aren't enough fish in the marine ocean is that people take the fish and they haven't reproduced because people are taking them out of the ocean. An abundance of people lives off fish. Fish has many people eating it but if we don’t stop eating fish and overfishing we might be able to save the fish from going extinct.

        Senator Stabenow, a solution to this problem is making legislation because if we make a law that sustains the limited amount of fish every time you go fishing then the endangered fish will have a higher population than usual. People who have a heavy diet of fish should be considered a sustainable meat or vegan alternative. The reason why is that people who eat a lot of fish are one of the reasons why he doesn't have a high population of fish. As a result, we need legislation about how much you can catch fish while fishing and people not eating as many fish as people eat.

        Senator Stabenow, I know you love Michigan and the food, lakes the fish in Michigan but if we don't do anything about it our great lakes we won't be able to enjoy the fish and food that we have if we don't do anything about the overfishing kids won't have seen all the types of fish in our seas and lakes. You can save the fish from overfishing if we stop overfishing and save the fish for future Michigan kids.
