         <description><![CDATA[<div>Leland Stanford was born on March 9, 1824, in Watervliet New York. He was a builder of the transcontinental railroad. Stanford became successful in the mining industry by opening a retail business and was involved in politics. He was California's governor from 1861-1863.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Mark Hopkins was born September 3, 1814 in Richmond Virginia. Hopkins helped build the central pacific railroad. Hopkins joined another merchant to form Huntington &amp; Hopkins, making it one of the most prosperous mercantile houses. He partnered with Leland Stanford and Charles Crocker too and organized the Central Pacific Railroad. They later moved to San Francisco and started building a mansion.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Charles M. Schwab was born on February 18, 1862 in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. Schwab was an entrepreneur of the early steel industry. Schwab took over management after the manager was killed in an accident. Schwab success came from his great labour and community relations at homestead while increasing efficiency and profit.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Jay Cooke was born on August 10, 1821, in Sandusky, Ohio. Cooke was prominent banker in the U.S. Cooke became a partner of the E.W Clark Company and earned its investor a large amount of money through his own investments. On January of 1861, Cooke established his own banking firm. In 1871, he partnered with Anthony Drexel, also a banker from Philadelphia. Morgan was important in stabilizing American financial markets during economical crisis.
