Upon viewing the film, "Dead Poets' Society", I found that I was familiar with many of the transcendental works and poets that were referenced in the movie. This allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of their meaning and establish a deeper personal connection. After viewing the movie and analyzing Walt Whitman's poem, "O Me! O Life!", I saw a direct reflection from Whitman's message to one of the main themes of the movie: living freely. After reading Whitman's poem, I felt inspired and empowered to take control of my life and consider the impact of my daily actions. Overall, I enjoyed both the film and the poem, as I was left feeling ready to ignite change and begin living my life to its full potential.

My verse will be one a positivity and gratitude. I will seek to become one with nature, to find harmony and peace within myself through my connection to the natural world. I will embody the words of Thoreau, Emerson, and all others who have transcended before my time; it is their words that have inspired my self-declaration. It is their words that I will continually envision as I begin my journey of transcendence; and it is their words I will pass on to others to encourage them to follow the same path as mine. It is in this moment that I declare to show endless love and gratitude for the breathtaking world that I am so fortunate to be in the presence of.
