His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel and he was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2 1904.Which was over a century ago, he went by the name Seuss (pronounced Zoyce in german) because when he was in college he had thrown a party that the cops eventually showed up to, as a punishment he wasn't allowed to write in his school newspaper anymore.
