Eating ice-cream in the winter!

In my home country, Spain, ice-cream is a must during summer. However, in winter, ice-cream shops are not even open.

One of the things that surprised me the most about the U.K. is how common it is to eat ice-cream in winter.

You can easily see adults and children eating ice-cream at the seaside, mid-January in sub-zero temperatures.

Calling tutors by their names

We are asked to call all our tutors by their names. I’m not used to that as in our culture calling our elders or tutors by name is disrespectful. So we usually refer them by Sir or Miss.

When I arrived in the UK for the first time, I realized that in every city they speak differently. I have a hard time to understand what they are saying but in few weeks I get used to it.

Fast food is relatively cheap and easily accessible.

Some people wear shorts clothes in winter, while back in my country people wear big jackets and pants to protect themselves.

Having to press the stop bottom to inform the bus driver that you are getting off the next stop, while in my country you just tell the driver were you are getting off. No stop bells on the bus.

In my country, you not allowed to walk in a store with an backpack or shopping bags from a different store, you have to keep it in the locker, and once you are done with your shopping you can collect it. However, in the UK you are allowed to.
