Between the United States and Canada, their governmental programs during the Great Depression had many similarities and differences. One example of this can be clearly seen with the Canadian Relief Camps and the Civilian Conservation Corps. (CCC). These two were similar because they had the same goal of employing the unemployed while trying to improve their infrastructure. However, the differences can be seen in the outcome of each of these camps. The Canadian Relief Camps were considered a failure, as they did not do much to help the Canadian infrastructure. They also faced lots of opposition from the workers themselves due to the working conditions, which ultimately culminated in the On to Ottawa Trek and Regina Riots. Another difference is that the United States had multiple types of "relief camps/programs", such as F.D.I.C, which helped promote financial trust and stability. Unlike the Canadian Relief Camps, the American programs were mainly well received by the workers, who were happy to earn money to send back to their families.
