According to journal law and legal research development it states, “ the benefit of using artificial intelligence to make decisions in court is a workable way to reduce the backlog of cases in India and other jurisdictions while also guaranteeing quick and long-lasting justice delivery systems globally. " this shows by using A.I it help human make faster decision making and not be stuck on one case at a time and taking long period of time to decide on a case. A.I. is being used in indian which is showing great amount of usefulnes since they are having much easier time making decision on cases.

According to IBM it states, “As the use cases of AI and other technologies continue to permeate the judiciary, judges, lawyers and staff must continue to be at the center of all decisions. Courts, and the legal system as a whole, must also be on alert for bias in data and algorithm” this shows that A.i. can also be wrong and not always right about everything and should be very careful on the data they receive by. Even the fact there’s a chance for the data to be bias doesn’t change the accurate of the decision being provide by A.I compared to humans we make a lots of mistakes unlike A.I. for example tragic case of Marcellus Williams we made a mistake that end a man's life.

The use of A.I would help resolve the controversy that is taking place in states like Missouri because they could help process information on a higher level than regular humans. They could do deeper research about the crime such as DNA testing and bias-detection. A.I would be able to research better on Marcellus and the DNA and fingerprints on the weapon and would also help research any bias towards the decision to charge the person with the crime. A.I would be very useful when it comes to helping the judge make a final decision if whether or not the person being charged is guilty. Although A.I would be a great help in deciding whether or not people should be charged with the crime, it is still ultimately up the judge and juries to decide, Ai would be a good way of understanding the information in a better and more precise way and should be used and relied on when making the final decision.

News organization Aljazeera did a cover on Marcellus Williams case, In 2001, Marcellus Williams was convicted for the muder of Felicia Gayle who was a former newspaper reporter and a social worker. Prosecutors said Marcellus Williams broke into her home on August 11, 1998, heard the shower running and picked up a large butcher knife. When Felicia Gayle went to investigate she was stabbed 43 times and had her purse and her husband’s laptop stolen. Marcellus Williams was than said to have taken a jacket to cover the blood on his body and than had the stolen goods in his laptop. It is also on record that he confessed to his cellmate about his murder and provided extremely specific details. Though throughout the 23 years he spent in prison he devoted to Islam and being the imam for the other prisoners. He also worked with the innocence project to help him through his imprisonment. Though forensic evidence was not found on the murder weapon and the bloody footprints and hair didn't match his he was still convicted guilty and executed.

The case of Marcellus Williams, who was executed on September 24th, 2024, despite doubts about his guilt, shows a serious problem in the justice system. Even the prosecutor, whose job is to argue that Williams was guilty, questioned whether Marcellus was truly guilty. This case shows the significance for better tools to evaluate evidence fairly, which A.I could help provide. A.I can process large amounts of information quickly, organize evidence, and help judges make more accurate decisions, which is shown in slide 5. It can also identify biases and dig deeper into details, like DNA testing and identifying fingerprints to help ensure the right person is charged. However, A.I is not perfect and can still be affected by biased data, so humans need to stay in control of decision-making. While A.I can improve the system by reducing mistakes and improving efficiency, it should only assist judges and juries, not replace them, to ensure fairness and understanding in court decisions.
