Anything can happen in 50 years, and its possible that some Athletic events would be held on mars. I think Relay is a suitable Athletic event to be held on mars. However, it will be a relay with a longer distance.

The difference in gravity would negatively affect human health by weakening bones and muscles. There is also risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular problems.
Once on Mars, surface gravity is only 38% of that on Earth.
