Hi, I’m Wilber Laura, and today I’d like to describe my ideal home.

I imagine a modern two-story house with large windows, clean design, and a peaceful atmosphere. It would have four spacious bedrooms, two functional bathrooms, an open kitchen, and a cozy living room where I can relax or spend time with friends.

I’d love to include a small garden with fruit trees, a rooftop terrace for quiet evenings, and a study room where I can read or work.

The house would be located in a calm area of Arequipa, close to parks, cafés, and local shops—all within walking distance.

The price range would be moderate, something realistic for a young professional. Not luxurious, but with enough value to offer comfort, space, and a good location.

For me, the ideal home is a place that feels peaceful, organized, and full of possibilities."

thanks you

Hi everyone,
I just moved to this neighborhood and I have many questions. I would like to ask some things to get to know the area better.

For example, do you know where the nearest store is?
I also want to know, could you tell me where the pharmacy is?
Another question I have is, can you explain to me how I can get to the market?
I’d also like to ask, will you show me where I can take the bus?
Of course, I also need to know, do you know what time the bakery opens?
I’m very interested, could you tell me where the post office is?
Another doubt I have is, can you explain to me what activities there are at the community center?
And finally, I wonder, do you know which parks are good for walking?

These are some of the questions I have now that I’m new in the neighborhood. Step by step, I will get to know the place better.

thanks you

Hi, I’m Wilber, and today I’d like to share three recommendations from my community.

First, if you’re looking for a place to spend time with friends, I recommend Parque Perú. It’s a large, clean park with green areas where you can relax, play sports, or just hang out. In my opinion, it’s perfect for socializing and enjoying the local atmosphere.

Second, a great restaurant I really enjoy is La Glorieta. They serve traditional dishes like lomo saltado, ají de gallina, and sopa criolla. I recommend it because the service is excellent and the food is delicious. The place is cozy and ideal for family meals or gatherings with friends.

And third, if you want to practice English, I suggest visiting the Municipal Cultural Center. They organize conversation clubs and bilingual workshops. It’s a great opportunity to improve your fluency, learn new vocabulary, and meet people with similar interests. I personally enjoy helping others with technical terms in both languages.

So, those are my three recommendations. I hope they’re useful if you ever visit my community. Thanks for listening, and have a great day!

Volunteering in the “Tacna Aprende” Program

Being part of the “Tacna Aprende” program as a volunteer was a truly rewarding experience. In my spare time, I spent about 4 hours a week supporting young people in educational sessions focused on basic mechanics and technical skills. What I enjoyed the most was explaining concepts clearly in both Spanish and English, adapting the content so everyone could understand.

I also helped organize the workspace, prepare bilingual materials, and coordinate with other instructors. This experience strengthened my improvisation skills, improved my bilingual expression, and made me feel useful within my community. I recommend this kind of volunteering to anyone who wants to teach, learn, and connect with people who are eager to grow.

The most important part of this experience was sharing my technical knowledge with others and improving my bilingual communication. It helped me grow as a leader and connect more deeply with my community.
