This is because he took a different route of writing is essay. For the college committees James wrote his essay as a parody. He wrote a lot of lies in order to entertain himself. For an example, for James Gregory, it was being cooperative and patience. James stated he could've worked with any kind of jelly, meaning any kind of person, as he was the "peanut butter that held things together," also meaning he was cooperative. In the end he got into a college he wanted, and ended up successful. For Hugh Gallagher, it was risk taking. Gallagher taunted at the expectations the college was expecting, and so he took that risk to write up all these lies to impress the college committee, and to entertain himself. Gallagher writing these many lies to make himself like he was a big person with big achievements, in the end, he got into New York University. To finish it all off, Khadijah Williams was determination and hardworking. Khadijah Williams was a homeless girl, with a dream to graduate from college. Williams got up at 4:30 am to take 3 busses, studied at night, and did her very best to get to where she is now. In the end, Williams became very successful, she attended Harvard and graduated and became successful.
