Matthew Perry sailed into Japan's harbor and delivered a letter saying that he would be back in 1 year with more ships. Japan was then forced to compare and contrast its navy to the Americans. The Japanese then realized they were no match and decided to open their ports allowing industrialization, soon the Japanese thrived and became one of the strongest powers in Asia.

The White Man's Burden Poem is a very famous poem that describes the ideological ideas of African Americans or Native Americans and how they needed to be civilized. This poem describes how the white men were sent to colonize and bring their ideological ideas over to these countries. The poem also deliberately states how the white men were going for money and exploration.

Opium, one of the strongest drugs in the world this drug was the only thing Asian merchants would buy from Great Britain. For non-medicinal uses, Asian people would smoke it and millions became addicted to opium. The emperor of China wrote a very angry letter to Britain, asking to stop the selling/trade of opium. To which Britain said no, this led to the opium wars as China went to war with Britain and lost very very badly they had no choice but to give in to imperialism.

She led the imperialization and modernization of the world and changed it forever.
