The Louisiana purchase was a big deal because it doubled the size of the U.S. at the time. Another reason why the Louisiana purchase was a big deal is it cost 15 million. The missouri compromise was where states disagreed on slavery so the government split them up into free states and slave states equally. The north were free states and the south was slave states. "His Foresight" cartoon was symbolistic towards the monroe doctrine. It shows that the U.S. is bigger then the other countries. The monroe doctrine was a warning to European countries to not interfere with the western hemisphere. It was a big deal because Europe was a major power at the time. One similarity between the north and south was they both were apart of the U.S. and a difference was the north didn't support slavery and the south did support slavery.

The louisiana purchase was a big deal because it doubled the U.S size. Thomas Jefferson bought the land at the now low price of 15M! Slavery was the dehumanization of black african americans. The Missouri Compromise was the process of Maine becoming a free state and Missouri favoring slavery. "HIS FORESIGHT" showed the cartoon of uncle Sam as a giant rooster while the little chickens were European countries. Displaying the authority of the U.S in the south. The Monroe Doctrine allowed no colonization as America was involved in expansion. This was important due to it being used in many cases. One similarity between the South and the North they both experienced the slave trade and took part in the exchanges. Colder in the North and "unfarmable" unlike the South, in the South farming was the main industry while factory labor was in the North.
