Explanation:  This shows how Josh   Linden died because of the same book Carol wants to read. Example: Mr. Linden changed his mood from sweet to stern and firm on pages 111 to 112 when Carol suggests reading a particular book. Mr. Linden on page 112 says "Yes, I hear it in your voice, child. I hear it clearly. But let me tell you- warn you, even- that there are books like frigates, that carry the mind gloriously across oceans of ideas; and then there are books- a few books, I would say- that capture more of he mind that one would want to surrender, books that are better off never read, never opened."

Explanation: I would have thought that Mr. Linden would just have actually told her what would happen if Carol took that particular book from the library. It would make more sense to tell her what would happen because since she didn't know what would happen if she took it, so she probably wanted to find out why the book changed every day she read the same page and she probably didn't believe him because he didn't tell her why not to take the book and read it. But that's just my thinking and opinion on it.

Explanation~
It's again and again because Carol sees that Mr.Linden is on the same page multiple times. I believe that the book is changing its story everyday so he just stays on the changing story page. What would happen if she turns the page though?
