Viking houses
---------------------
 The Vikings built their houses from local material such as wood, stone or blocks of turf.
They lived in long rectangular houses.
Viking houses were often one room homes with a cooking stone or blocks of turf.

Victorian


  • Victorian houses have chimneys because they often had a fireplace in most rooms.
Tudor
  • Houses were usually made of timber (wood) and wattle and daub. (sárral tapasztott vesszőfonat)
  • Tudor houses have pitched roof (hegyes tető) covered with clay or stone tiles (agyag és kő zsindellyel).
    Gregorian houses have:
  • Fan light above the door. 
  • Paired chimneys. 
  • Sash windows (windows which slide up and down). 
  • The windows nearer the roof are smaller than the rest.
    Main types of houses
    1. Detached (a house not joined to another house)

  • Only one family lives in this house.
  • It has a garden
    2. Semi-Detached House
  • It is a twin house
  • They are joined. They have a common wall.
    3. Terrace House
  • These are a row of houses (sor) Many families live here. 
  • They usually have no garden
    4. Flats(UK) Apartment (USA)
  • This house is in a block of flats (tömbház) and has many floors
  • It has usually no gardens.
5. Bungalow:
It is a low-built one story house. It’s often small in size. Bungalows often have a veranda (porch), at the front and or back, which is a covered area to sit.
6. Cottage:
Cottages are small old-fashioned houses often found in the countryside. They are made of stone or brick with a straw or thatched roof.

·    Haggis is made from lamb’s offal mixed with suet, onions, herbs, and spices. Haggis is often served with mashed potatoes and mashed swede or turnips.
BANNOCKS: Bannock is a form of flat cake baked on a griddle. Generally made of oatmeal, it takes the form of a large oatcake biscuit. 
STOVIES consists of tatties (potatoes), onions and sometimes sausages or leftover.
 ENGLISH TEA: This is a black tea but they put milk in it.Tea is  the most popular drink in England.
ENGLISH CIDER:
Sparkling wine usually made from apple or pear. 
This is an alcoholic drink.Scottish Beef:
The Aberdeen-Angus beef is famous for rich and tasty meat, which makes excellent steaks.
 
The SUNDAY ROAST
ROAST BEEF is traditionally eaten with horseradish sauce, English mustard and Yorkshire pudding. ROAST PORK is often served with apple sauce.
ROAST LAMB tastes delicious with  mint sauce.


A full breakfast is a breakfast meal that typically includes
bacon,
sausages,
fried eggs,
beans in tomato sauce,
mushrooms and toast.
1. Pies
 There are many different pies:

  • cottage pie minced beef with mashed potato topping, 

  • shepherd’s pie using lamb instead of beef, 

. Puddings
Pudding is a very traditional dessert for the English, especially at Christmas.

In the UK children wear uniforms.
The boys wear black trousers, white T-shirt and a tie.
The girls wear black trousers or skirts or dress with a  white T-shirt.
There is the logo of the school on the uniform.

A school day :

The school starts at 8:50. The first is registration.
In the morning it is an assembly. The first lesson starts at 9:30.

The subjects are :

Art, ICT, Literacy, Maths, History, Science and PE.
In lunchtime they eat lunch in the school canteen.
In the breaks they play in the playground. The school ends at 15.30.

After you are done with the secondary education you can choose between college where you learn the basic subjects or vocational school where you learn professions.

After college you can go to university where you can get different degrees for example Bachelor's degree or Master degree but if you want more knowledge you can get a PHD as well.

University= egyetem 
BTEC=Business and Technology Education Council 
HND= Higher National Diploma
HNC= Higher National Certificate 
Bachelor’s degree= egyetemi diploma
PHD= philosophiæ doctor tudományos fokozat 
Master degree= mesterképzés

Edinburgh Castle: 
It is in Scotland. It was built on an extinct volcano. 

London Eye:
