"Police in Schools Make Students Safer." School Safety, edited by Noah Berlatsky, Greenhaven Press, 2016. At this point any measure of protection is worth our consideration. He uses the example of the Sandy Hook tragedy and after how NRA wanted armed resource officers in the schools and even brought up the idea of teachers being armed. He also mentions a national ban on all assault weapons and restrictions on the number of bullets a magazine can hold in them. He also suggests a mental health screening for anyone who would like to purchase a weapon.

The author is biased to wanting police officers in our schools. His tone is serious and he wants something done about this. He wants the children’s safety to be a priority. As for evidence he uses Governor Chris Christie interview at NJPAC. He also uses the interview of Jonathan Hornik, Malboro’s mayor, and they talk about the police recommending to the Board of Education about having police in our schools.

The paragraphs in this article are very helpful with information on what the police are thinking of these situations. This article helped me to see the reality of all these situations. The children’s safety should be everyone’s priority at any means possible.

That is the fundamental of a society which depends on person’s responsibility and has a free society. The authors use the key principles of Respecting the Right to Bear Arms, Preserving School Safety, Addressing Mental Illness, and Addressing Cultural Issues. He also mentions how the right to bear arms is very urgent and important in today’s world because it allows citizens to defend themselves against violence of any criminals. The police cannot be everywhere at once and it may take them a bit to get to where you are.

The author’s tone is very serious and wants our rights as American citizens to be protected. This author as the last also has the priority of the children’s safety but he also wants to follow our constitutional rights. He uses the evidence of the rate of gun ownership is higher in rural areas than in urban areas but the rate of murders is much higher in urban areas. He also says that gun ownership is roughly three times higher in Switzerland than Germany but yet Switzerland has lower 🤬 rates. It’s the same for the states Israel, New Zealand, and Finland with high gun ownership but low 🤬 rates.

This article is helpful with the information it provides of the rights of the American citizens. It helps me understand the opposing views, even though the safety of the children is still the priority, our rights still need to be kept in mind.

"A Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Would Protect Unborn Children." Problems with Death, edited by David A. Becker, Greenhaven Press, 2006. Opposing Viewpoints. Opposing Viewpoints in Context, http://link.galegroup.com/apps/doc/EJ3010160237/OVIC?u=bcps&xid=a36f5a05. Accessed 21 Feb. 2018. Originally published as "Legal Failure or Moral Success," America, vol. 191, 29 Nov. 2004, pp. 11-14.

In this article, Antony Kolenc gives supporting details to strengthen his argument against partial-birth abortion. He claims that this procedure is almost like 🤬 by “crushing the child’s skull just moments before the very first breath” also known as the procedure “tagged as the most inhumane method of abortion”. Kolenc has a goal to put a ban onto partial-birth abortion and refused to stop there, he started teaching the constitutional law at the U.S air force academy to educate others on the issue as well as supporting pro-life and the anti-abortion legislation.

The author has a very demanding yet subtle way of approaching and explaining the issue of abortion. The fight for a ban on partial-birth abortion started to take some actions and gained public attention in 1992. A lot of people started speaking on behalf of unborn babies which later led to many more civilians including religious leaders and politicians to start speaking out on the issue. There were many hearings on the partial-birth procedure but after so many cases, the congress decided that “the procedure posed serious health risks to the mother” and then passed the ban on the abortion. Though the ban went through jeopardy and struggle, it still stands and provides a slight protection for the unborn babies and continues to educate society in a numerous amount of ways.

This article was very supportive and helpful in gaining information on the process of banning partial-birth abortion. The article was also full of very important information on how harmful this procedure is, not only to the babies but to the mothers as well.
