Use of Technology

By introducing any and all programs that can benefit many learners, I am able to best help each student and their individual needs. By having a vast knowledge of these programs and equipment, I can also help my colleagues in their learning as well. We know that technology is not going anywhere, so it is important as educators to embrace it. The more you grow with the technology, the easier it is to use and set up in your environments.

Reflection

By self reflecting, I am able to look at what I am doing and contributing as an educator. This can help me make any modifications to things that might not be working, or how to elaborate on the things that are working well. When we get the chance to reflect as a group of educators, you may make realizations that you might not have made on your own. More brains is always better than one.

The Fellow Students are Educators As Well!

When we give the opportunities for children to be educators to their peers, we are promoting the collaboration between them to happen. Sometimes a child in our care needs to hear/see/experience something from a child's perspective, without adult intervention. Children and their peers can be the best form of educators to each other, when done appropriately.

Engagement From All

By allowing the voices of our coworkers, parents, and the children themselves, we can get many perspectives on a situation or learning experience. Sometimes the co workers might have observed something you missed out on, and this can help you make better choices in the programming and inclusion. Parents may see a whole different child at home, and this will help us as educators to see what may or may not be working in the change of environment from home to child care setting. Other children are also very attuned to their peers, and can offer ideas and opinions as well that can help you as an educator.
